Senior Quality Engineer | Aerospace & Electroplating | Full Ownership
Location: Walton-on-Thames, Surrey

Reports to: Quality Manager (not software)

The role
This is a Quality Engineer who actually runs the system — not someone who only writes NCRs and files them.
You’ll work alongside the Quality Manager to keep the business compliant across legal, export, H&S, employment and environmental requirements. Day to day you’ll own the QMS and EMS, plus related approvals such as AS9100 and Nadcap. You’ll also manage configuration control so work meets military and commercial specs and customer requirements.
You’ll develop training and people capability, support the push to become a recognised centre of excellence in electroplating, and take charge of calibration, non-conformances and quality processes. You will also be authorised to sign Certificates of Conformance.
What you’ll be doing
- Help ensure the business stays compliant with regulatory and customer requirements
- Manage the QMS, EMS and related systems (AS9100, Nadcap and similar)
- Own configuration management against military, commercial and customer specs
- Build training and people-development across the site
- Support technical capability in electroplating
- Run quality activity: training, calibration, non-conformances
- Sign Certificates of Conformance
- 5 years’ quality management experience at senior level
- Lead Auditor qualification or 5 years’ auditing experience
- Quality Assurance management (IQA “A12”) or equivalent
- Working knowledge of quality systems to AS9100 / Nadcap level
- Strong communicator who can deal with people at every level
- Organised, self-motivated, customer-focused, able to plan and delegate
- Integrity and good time management
You won’t be a passenger. You’ll own the quality system, sign product off, and help shape how the business trains people and builds technical capability.
