About the role

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of complex, high\-value and strategically significant projects and programmes from initiation through to operational handover. Acting as a senior interface between customers, stakeholders, executive leadership and delivery teams, the Senior Project Manager provides strategic direction, governance, risk oversight and assurance to achieve successful business outcomes.

  • Establish project and programme objectives, delivery strategies, governance frameworks and measurable success criteria aligned to organisational priorities.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and budgets.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, customers and partners, providing clear strategic insight, governance reporting and decision support.

  • Provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and partner organisations to ensure integrated delivery and achievement of business objectives.

  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and governance standards.

  • Lead organisational change, transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, embedding best practice project delivery methodologies across the business.
About you

You will:

  • Provide evidence of sound programme and portfolio management

  • Prove executive stakeholder engagement and influencing

  • Have experience with commercial and contract management

  • Demonstrate strategic planning and organisational alignment

  • Have a strong financial forecasting, budget ownership and cost control background

  • Be confident to lead on governance, assurance and risk leadership

  • Hold PRINCE2 Practitioner, AMP PMQ, MSP Practitioner or equivalent

  • Demonstrate experience leading multi\-disciplinary delivery teams

  • Demonstratable experience delivery complex programmes within Defence, Security or Technology environments
