Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of commercial and industrial construction projects from the start of the construction phase through to completion

This is a nationwide senior role with responsibility not only for the successful delivery of projects, but also for the leadership, management, and development of a team of Project Managers and site\-based teams. The successful candidate will provide clear direction across multiple live projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with both pre\-construction and operational teams, the Senior Project Manager will play a key role in driving performance, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring consistency in project delivery across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Lead and oversee the delivery of multiple commercial and industrial construction projects across various locations.

· Provide line management, support, and day\-to\-day leadership to a team of Project Managers.

· Oversee the performance of site teams below the Project Managers, ensuring clear structure, accountability, and effective communication throughout the delivery function.

· Monitor project progress, programme, budgets, and resourcing to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the required standard.

· Carry out site surveys and attend technical meetings to help develop specifications and delivery strategies for clients.

· Prepare and review contract programmes, cost schedules, and project delivery plans.

· Negotiate with and allocate work to subcontractors, ensuring appropriate commercial and operational control.

· Support Project Managers with problem solving, technical input, escalation management, and delivery challenges across live projects.

· Ensure materials are called off and ordered accurately from technical drawings and project specifications.

· Provide regular reporting on project performance, risks, progress, and commercial position to senior management and clients.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

· Drive high standards of health and safety compliance across all projects and ensure CDM and statutory requirements are met.

· Review and oversee RAMS approvals and ensure safe systems of work are implemented across site operations.

· Lead by example in promoting a positive, solutions\-focused culture and strong performance standards across the team.

· Support the development, coaching, and performance management of Project Managers and wider delivery teams.

· Demonstrate strong knowledge across all areas of construction and provide leadership in decision\-making and project execution.

Skills and Experience

· NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management, or a degree in Construction Management (or a related discipline), or equivalent experience

· SMSTS qualified

· First Aid trained

· CSCS card

· Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and CDM regulations

· Experience reviewing and approving RAMS

· Proven experience managing commercial and industrial construction projects

· Previous experience in a senior or leadership role with line management responsibility

· Experience managing and developing Project Managers and site\-based teams

· Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Excellent people management and leadership skills

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively

· Ability to use initiative, solve problems, and make sound operational decisions

· MS Office and CAD skills

· Flexible, can\-do attitude

· Ability to work on sites nationally

· Full driving licence
