We are seeking an experienced and results\-driven Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of strategic CAPEX projects across our food manufacturing facility in Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring safe, compliant, on\-time, and on\-budget execution while supporting the site's operational and growth objectives. This role requires strong engineering, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience delivering projects within a regulated manufacturing environment such as food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industries.

- Lead the execution of capital investment projects ranging from equipment upgrades and process improvements to facility expansions and infrastructure developments
- Manage the full project lifecycle including:
+ Feasibility studies
+ Budget development
+ Detailed design
+ Procurement
+ Installation
+ Commissioning
+ Project close\-out
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
- Provide regular project updates and reports to site leadership and key stakeholders
- Act as technical lead for assigned projects, ensuring robust engineering solutions are implemented
- Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, and production teams to define project requirements
- Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and contractor deliverables
- Drive process optimization, equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and operational excellence initiatives
- Support validation, commissioning, and handover activities
- Manage external engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment suppliers
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with site standards and project requirements
- Coordinate FAT, SAT, installation, and commissioning activities
- Conduct tender evaluations and support procurement activities
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all projects are delivered in compliance with company and statutory HSE requirements
- Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental, quality, and engineering standards
- Lead project risk assessments, permit\-to\-work reviews, and contractor safety management activities
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained according to company and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings
- Support implementation of Lean, TPM, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to the site's long\-term capital planning process and engineering strategy
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical, Manufacturing, or equivalent Engineering discipline
- Minimum 8\+ years' engineering experience within food manufacturing, beverage, dairy, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industrial environments
- Proven track record delivering CAPEX projects valued from €100k to €10M\+
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and engineering best practices
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Excellent knowledge of Health \& Safety legislation and risk management principles
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, and project controls experience
- Experience with utilities systems including steam, refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment, and energy systems
- Experience with food manufacturing processes and food safety requirements
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, SAP, CMMS, or similar systems
