Senior Production Supervisor (Chocolate)

Untamed Chocolate is looking for a Senior Production Supervisor to play a key role in the day\-to\-day running of our busy factory, helping coordinate production and packing plans, organising people and resources, and keeping everything moving to the high standards our products deserve.
You’ll be at the centre of daily planning, people coordination, factory records, KPI reporting and follow\-up actions, making sure the team has what it needs to succeed.
No two days will look the same. One moment you’ll be planning and coordinating, the next you’ll be supporting the team on the factory floor or helping in production and packing when needed. Qualifications/ Requirements
- Proven experience in Chocolate / Food production environments
- Working knowledge of food safety, HACCP, allergen control, GMP and traceability.
- Previous experience working with chocolate or confectionery production.
- Working knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, allergen control, GMP and traceability.
- Previous supervisory or team\-lead experience within food manufacturing.
- Mechanical knowledge is desirable for troubleshooting equipment issues efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Basic maths skills for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of leading a team and liaising with cross\-departmental colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications in food safety or management are advantageous.
Team Leadership and Training
- Manage and support the Production Supervisor and Line Leader, ensuring employees are allocated safely and effectively.
- Run daily briefings so priorities, quality standards and targets are clear.
- Train, sign off and coach employees to improve skills, consistency and performance.
- Monitor attendance, conduct and performance, escalating formal matters to the General Manager.
- Plan holidays, staffing cover and labour needs, coordinating recruitment, induction and agency support as needed.
- Maintain staffing and training records while promoting teamwork, accountability and a positive culture.
- Quality
- Own day\-to\-day product quality, completing and verifying QA checks against specifications.
- Identify, isolate and escalate non\-conforming products where safety, legality or quality may be affected.
- Investigate deviations, support corrective actions and promote right\-first\-time standards
- Own factory documentation, ensuring production, packing, cleaning, traceability, quality and stock records are accurate and filed correctly.
- Check paperwork, correct gaps and follow up repeated errors.
- Create, update and issue product, batch, ingredient or packing labels from approved information, ensuring the correct version is used.
- Complete and circulate daily KPI paperwork covering plan versus actual, labour, output, waste, rejects, downtime and recovery actions.
- Use Microsoft Excel, Word, email and digital production, stock or planning systems confidently.
- Coordinate the factory execution of customer samples and product trials.
- Produce high\-quality samples to agreed specifications and deadlines.
- Support trials of new products, ingredients and processes.
- Provide practical chocolate\-manufacturing feedback on process capability, labour and scalability.
- Monitor output, labour efficiency, waste, rework and right\-first\-time performance throughout the day.
- Take practical action to keep production on target and report material variances.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, changeovers, workplace organisation and product consistency.
- Agree improvement priorities with the General Manager and ensure actions are implemented and sustained.
- Ensure production equipment is operated safely and correctly.
- Complete basic equipment checks, minor adjustments, changeovers and first\-line fault finding within training and authority.
- Isolate unsafe or faulty equipment and provide clear fault information when escalating for engineering support.
- Ensure employees follow company procedures, safe systems of work and PPE requirements.
- Maintain excellent hygiene, clean\-as\-you\-go, GMP and housekeeping standards.
- Support compliance with HACCP, allergen control, traceability and customer requirements.
- Report accidents, hazards and near misses promptly.
Pay: £17\.00 per hour
