Purpose \& key responsibilities of the role

Lenzing is accelerating its transformation toward data\-driven manufacturing and Industry 4\.0\. As a *Senior Process Control Engineer* , you will lead the development and deployment of advanced control strategies, process optimization solutions, and digital engineering capabilities across global production sites.
This role combines automation engineering, data analytics, and process modeling to drive measurable improvements in plant performance, efficiency, and stability.
Your responsibilities:
- Advanced Process Control and Automation
+ Improve process stability, plant performance, and energy efficiency
+ Standardize control concepts across global production environments
- Data\-Driven Optimization and Analytics
+ Apply statistical process control (SPC) and data analytics
+ Enable continuous improvement toward autonomous plant operations
- Process Modeling and Simulation
+ Use simulations for control strategy validation, optimization, and operator training
+ Support validation of distributed control systems (DCS)
- CAPEX and Engineering Projects
+ Ensure robust automation design from concept to commissioning
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
+ Collaborate across engineering, operations, and digital teams
+ Drive knowledge sharing and best practices across site
Our expectations for this exciting role
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Physics, or Mechatronics
- Several years of experience in:
+ Advanced process control (APC)
+ Industrial production environments
- Technical Expertise
- Process control systems and automation technologies
- Process modeling and simulation
- Statistical process control and data analysis
- Interest or experience in AI, GenAI, or data\-driven engineering is a plus
- Experience with DCS systems, PIMS, and digital tools
- Soft Skills
+ High level of solution orientation and ownership
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
+ Ability to work in international and cross\-functional teams
- Languages
+ German C1 or higher
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
