Accountabilities:
- Partner with Product Management and Software Engineering to define and evolve the pipeline integrity product roadmap, from problem definition through user stories, acceptance criteria, and release validation.
- Translate pipeline integrity standards, regulations, and industry practices—including API 1160, ASME B31.8S, and ASME B31.8—into clear and actionable functional requirements.
- Develop and review technical specifications, calculation logic, and product documentation, and validate software behavior against real-world pipeline data.
- Bring the operator perspective into design reviews, prototypes, usability sessions, and product decisions to ensure solutions reflect actual operational needs.
- Collaborate with specialists across mechanical integrity, reliability, and functional safety to maintain a coherent, plant-wide approach to asset integrity.
- Lead customer business-process review workshops and help map integrity management processes onto digital solutions while identifying opportunities for improved maturity and performance.
- Support implementation, configuration, and data migration projects, ensuring technical decisions are robust, traceable, and aligned with customer objectives.
- Deliver software and business-process training covering areas such as inspection and ILI planning, anomaly management, corrosion assessment, fitness-for-service, degradation management, risk-based assessment, and repair decision-making.
- Provide expert support for complex technical questions following implementation and identify recurring customer needs that can inform future product development.
- Help define customer success through maturity benchmarks, adoption measures, and measurable business outcomes.
- Represent the organization at conferences, user groups, standards committees, and industry working groups, bringing relevant insights back into product and business strategy.
- Contribute to thought leadership through technical articles, white papers, webinars, presentations, and customer case studies.
- Support sales and pre-sales activities through product demonstrations, technical discussions, proposals, and credible industry expertise.
- Build internal pipeline integrity capability by sharing knowledge with colleagues across Product, Delivery, and Commercial teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in pipeline integrity, ideally within Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, or another asset-intensive industry.
- Strong operator-side experience, including direct accountability for pipeline integrity decisions and outcomes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pipeline integrity management practices, including threat identification, risk assessment, inspection and ILI planning, ILI data interpretation, and anomaly assessment.
- Hands-on understanding of fitness-for-service methodologies such as ASME B31G, RSTRENG, and API 579.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline degradation mechanisms and associated mitigation and monitoring techniques, including cathodic protection, coatings, chemical treatment, and above-ground surveys.
- Familiarity with Asset Integrity Management (AIM), Asset Performance Management (APM), or comparable digital integrity solutions.
- Comfortable working with engineering data and understanding its quality, structure, limitations, and practical application.
- Strong interest in AI, machine learning, and other advanced technologies, with curiosity about how they can improve engineering and integrity processes.
- Some experience with, or strong interest in, software and engineering digitalization, combined with the ability to work effectively in short, iterative cycles with product managers and developers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical engineering teams and senior executives.
- Comfortable operating across multiple functions and responsibilities in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
- A proactive, accountable, customer-focused mindset with strong ownership, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- A Master’s degree in pipeline engineering or a related engineering discipline is advantageous.
- Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or equivalent professional accreditation is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant pipeline standards and certifications, such as ISO, NACE, or AMPP, is beneficial.
- Participation in standards bodies, joint industry projects, or industry working groups is highly valued.
- Published technical papers, conference presentations, webinars, or other evidence of industry thought leadership is a plus.
- Experience implementing or owning pipeline integrity software from the customer side is advantageous.
- Experience working with global operators is beneficial.
