Senior Operations Manager

Our operations help everything to come together at Amazon. As the Site Leader/Senior Operations Manager in a fast\-paced and challenging environment, you’ll be the person who knows your area of the business inside out. You’ll own the operational metrics and set the strategy for your area of the business to deliver for our customers and ultimately grow our operations. You’ll also develop a large team and coach and mentor team leaders.

Key job responsibilities

Monitor operational metrics and business performance

Contribute to planning the operational budget, considering everything from financial and labour planning

Protect high standards of operational Health and Safety

Strategic planning for the next three, six and twelve months, with a particular focus on peak\-season planning

Be accountable for operational leadership by measuring performance, offering feedback, and providing development support

A day in the life

you will lead shifts at one of our operational sites. You’ll also be the key link between a number of teams, including finance, safety and operations integration teams. That means you’ll be close to the day\-to\-day operations at your site but also contribute to new ways to innovate.

A typical day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into performance and risk metrics for sites, and looking ahead to prepare for different levels of demand. Every day will also involve mentoring and coaching your team. You’ll be a source of leadership and support your team to be the best managers they can be.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field


• Advanced degree, or Bachelor's degree


• Experience in manufacturing, production, distribution logistics environments, retail, or grocery management roles


• Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization


• Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and upper intermediate proficiency in the local language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
----------------------------

• Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
