Senior Operations & Logistics Coordinator
Sarah's Hire is a growing portable toilet hire and welfare servicing business based in Herefordshire.
We're looking for an experienced Operations \& Logistics Coordinator to take a key role in the day\-to\-day running of our operation.
This is not a general administration role.
We need someone with genuine experience in logistics, transport, route planning, fleet operations or the hire industry who can coordinate drivers and vehicles, solve problems quickly and remain calm when plans change.
As the business continues to grow and develop additional operating locations, there is significant scope for the right person to take increasing responsibility and ultimately help run our Hereford operation day to day.
What you'll be doing
- Planning efficient daily and weekly driver routes.
- Coordinating drivers, vehicles, servicing, deliveries and collections.
- Reorganising routes when circumstances change.
- Dealing with driver delays, vehicle problems and urgent customer requirements.
- Using Detrack and other systems to maintain accurate job information.
- Maintaining operational information using Excel and Google Sheets.
- Communicating with drivers and customers throughout the working day.
- Monitoring driver hours and helping control unnecessary overtime.
- Checking that jobs, routes and customer information are accurate.
- Taking ownership of operational problems and finding solutions.
- Supporting the development of better processes as the business grows.
You must have previous experience in one or more of the following:
- Logistics
- Transport planning
- Route scheduling
- Fleet operations
- Hire operations
- Multi\-drop/service operations
- Good Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- The ability to make sensible decisions without needing constant direction.
- Confidence dealing with several issues at the same time.
- Strong problem\-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to adapt quickly when plans change.
- Confidence learning and using computer systems.
The person we're looking for
Our operation can change quickly.
Drivers get delayed. Customers change requirements. Vehicles can go off the road. New jobs are added and routes sometimes need reorganising at short notice.
We're looking for someone whose instinct is to assess the situation, prioritise what matters and find a solution.
You'll receive support and training in how Sarah's Hire operates, but over time we want you to become someone who can confidently take ownership of the day\-to\-day operation rather than needing every decision made for you.
Salary and progression
£35,000 basic salary
plus
Performance bonus of up to £5,000 per year, assessed and paid every six months.
For the right person, there is genuine scope to take on increasing responsibility as the business continues to expand.
