Operations Services department provides processing support for the front line business units handling trade finance, loan and cash management products. Operations Business Risk and Controls (OBRC) is part of the department. It is responsible for managing third\-party risk, strengthening operational resilience, and maintaining a robust risk and control framework across the business. As a Senior Officer \- Operations Business Risk and Controls, you will be responsible to assist the Team Lead in delivering business risk and control support for OBRC and Operations Services department. This is a full time permanent position.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the first line of defence (1LoD) programme by working with frontline operational support teams to execute core operational risk activities including Risk and Control Self\-Assessment (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Operational Risk Event (ORE)

  • Analyse emerging risk trends, incidents, and OREs to identify underlying issues, assess impacts and establish appropriate remedial controls and solutions

  • Maintain oversight of the department’s risk profile by tracking and managing identified issues from all sources (e.g. Internal Audit), ensuring remediation actions are delivered within agreed timelines

  • Conduct control testing and Quality Assurance (QA) reviews, assess the adequacy of RCSA controls, and report deficiencies, policy breaches and overdue actions

  • Liaise with relevant teams to ensure customer cases are handled to the highest standard, complying with FCA and Treating Customers Fairly (TFC) principles

  • Monitor customer queries and feedback by working with relevant teams to ensure cases are progressed to a high standard and resolved in line with FCA and TCD principles

  • Provide operational support as backup for daily Operations Services department activities, ensuring all tasks follow bank procedures and reporting is accurate and timely

  • Support system changes by preparing business requirements, conducting relevant testing and assisting with implementation activities
Requirements
  • Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other relevant subject

  • Proven track record in Operational Risk and Controls management in Banking sector

  • Solid understanding of operational risk, mitigating risk and control frameworks

  • Understanding of corporate and retail banking products

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
