<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Daily Mail is recruiting a Senior Newsletters Editor to manage the writing, editing and production of our morning news newsletter.</p>
<p>The hours for this role are 1pm to 9pm, Mon-Thurs, with earlier hours on Fridays. </p>
<p>The successful candidate will be able to write quickly with a lively tone, have strong subbing skills and excellent news judgement. They will also be data literate, using performance data to curate stories and inform future strategy, and collaborate well with desks across the newsroom to show off the best of our coverage. </p>

<p><strong>Main Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build and write/edit the daily morning news newsletter, ensuring high-quality copy in a lively tone and a compelling mix of content</li>
<li>Use news sense to make confident calls about when to send during live news events</li>
<li>Maintain editorial standards, ensuring accuracy, clarity and responsible reporting</li>
<li>Analyse data and use editorial judgement to curate the most important, engaging and relevant stories for the newsletter</li>
<li>Use performance data to make recommendations about story placement, picture choices, headline framing and content curation for future editions</li>
<li>Collaborate with desks across the newsroom to ensure the newsletter reflects the best of our reporting and aligns with audience needs</li>
<li>Translate audience and content performance data into actionable insights for newsletters team and wider newsroom to inform strategy</li>
<li>Suggest and execute experiments aimed at optimising engagement and conversion</li>
<li>Stay up to date with industry trends and audience engagement best practices</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Person Specification</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field</li>
<li>Adept at writing sharp copy, subbing and curating articles at a digital news publisher</li>
<li>Excellent editorial judgement and news sense</li>
<li>The ability to work and make decisions quickly</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform editorial decisions</li>
<li>Excellent data literacy with the ability to interpret, visualise and explain trends clearly and to distil complex information into concise reports</li>
<li>Ability to work closely with experienced journalists, building trust and credibility</li>
<li>Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to experiment</li>
<li>Experience working with newsletters and knowledge of email best practices</li>
<li>Experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment</li>
