About the role
United Minibuses \& Coaches Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Mobile PSV Engineer to maintain and repair our fleet of minibuses, coaches and specialist passenger vehicles.
This is a senior mobile engineering role suited to someone who can work independently, diagnose complex faults, attend breakdowns and take responsibility for keeping vehicles safe, compliant and available for service.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Complete DVSA safety inspections and MOT preparation work.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Work on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering and emissions systems.
- Diagnose ABS, EBS, CANBUS, AdBlue and engine management faults.
- Attend roadside breakdowns and carry out mobile repairs.
- Coordinate recovery where required.
- Complete accurate maintenance and defect records.
- Ensure all work meets DVSA, Operator Licence, health and safety and company standards.
- Support fleet reliability, compliance and vehicle uptime.
- Assist with technical troubleshooting and support junior team members where required.
We are looking for candidates with strong PSV, HGV, coach, bus or commercial vehicle experience.
Experience working with or at the following manufacturers would be highly desirable:
- DAF
- Scania
- Mercedes\-Benz Commercial Vehicles
- Van Hool
- Volvo
- MAN
- Iveco
- Alexander Dennis
- Proven experience as a PSV Engineer, Coach Engineer, Bus Mechanic, HGV Technician or Fleet Engineer.
- Strong diagnostic and fault\-finding ability.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently as a mobile engineer.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable, professional and safety\-focused approach.
- NVQ Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- City \& Guilds Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
- IMI Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
- IRTEC Accreditation.
- PSV licence.
- HGV licence.
- Air brake systems experience.
- Tachograph knowledge.
- Experience in a 24/7 transport operation.
- Salary of £50,000 \- £55,000 per annum.
