This opportunity has arisen due to both expansion and an upcoming retirement, making it a genuinely rare senior-level opening.Your new role
As the Mechanical Design Lead, you will take responsibility for delivering and overseeing mechanical building services design across a varied project portfolio.Your role will include:

  • Leading mechanical design work, from concept through to delivery

  • Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports

  • Coordinating with internal teams, architects, and contractors

  • Supporting tenders, proposals, and technical submissions

  • Mentoring and developing junior/intermediate engineers

  • Helping to shape and grow an expanding design team

You will be based in the office full-time, working within a close-knit and supportive technical team.What you'll need to succeed
You will have a strong background in mechanical building services design and the confidence to take technical ownership. You will ideally have:
  • Experience delivering mechanical design across education, commercial, industrial, or public-sector buildings

  • Proficiency in IES (thermal modelling) and Revit (3D coordination)

  • Strong communication and coordination skills

  • Ability to manage design workload and contribute to project meetings

  • Relevant engineering qualifications (Degree/HNC/HND)

  • A desire to step into leadership if currently at Intermediate/Senior level

This role suits either an experienced Mechanical Design Lead or a high-performing engineer ready to step up.What you'll get in return
