Senior Java Developer

We are seeking a full\-stack engineer with a solid emphasis on backend engineering, motivated to discover new technologies and creative solutions within the internal platforms of a financial institution. We appreciate a forward\-thinking attitude, the ability to overcome obstacles, creative problem\-solving, and a readiness to embrace calculated risks.

As part of your role, you will be responsible for:

• Backend development in Java (Spring Boot).


• Architectural design leveraging AWS and microservices.


• Frontend engineering tasks, when needed.


• Contributing to delivery through agile frameworks, across sprints and aligned with the Product Owner and team backlog.


• Releasing software through DevOps principles and CI/CD workflows.

• At least 5 years of practical experience in Java engineering, with strong command of recent Java versions and deep expertise in Spring Boot.


• Solid understanding of AWS, microservices architecture, and software design patterns.


• Solid understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.


• Background in frontend frameworks such as React.js or Angular is a strong advantage.


• Familiarity with Node.js and PostgreSQL is a plus.


• Strong awareness of security standards related to APIs and data protection.


• Hands\-on knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and a drive to champion agile ways of working within the team.


• Ease with DevOps workflows covering configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, Gitflow, Infrastructure as Code, and deployment strategies, among others.


• Proficiency in English (B2 or above) is mandatory.


• Willingness to work on\-site two days per week, in Lisbon or Porto.

• Capacity to adjust to different environments, teams, and clients.


• Collaborative mindset combined with a sense of ownership and independence.


• Enthusiasm for international engagements, including occasional travel.


• Openness to working alongside diverse stakeholders.
