In addition to managing large\-scale one\-off projects, at PM Group we also provide a Managed Service for capital projects to a growing number of clients. Our site\-based Managed Service teams take projects ranging in capital value from €100k to €15M from concept through all stages of the project life\-cycle to handover. Whether a simple pump replacement or a complex building extension, we manage all aspects of the project from idea to implementation. We deliver diverse portfolios of projects including buildings, cleanrooms, utilities, process installations, regulatory upgrades and equipment replacements.
Due to continued success and our long\-standing relationships with global Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical clients, we have a requirement for a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join our Managed Service site\-based team in Cork.
It will be an advantage to have an electrical understanding also.
:
- Instrumentation Design working as part of a multi\-disciplinary project delivery team.
- Provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required.
- Assemble and manage bid, approval, and construction issue instrumentation design packages in an efficient and lean manner.
- Monitor and mentor engineering team members.
- Check other instrumentation engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews.
- Requires extensive and independent contact with client, vendor’s representatives and site personnel.
- Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings.
- Implement specific site and company quality \& design Standards.
- Ability to manage the coordination of the design team and external stakeholders.
- Ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are required to provide costs effective solutions for our clients.
- Third Level Degree in Engineering Discipline \- Applied Physics and Instrumentation or similar discipline
- 7\+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Professional approach and demeanour
- A strong ethical approach to safety, quality and sustainable design
- Knowledge of applicable instrumentation engineering codes, standards and current industry best practices
- Demonstrable experience of leadership in industrial engineering design including:
o Instrument Specification
o Remote I/O Subsystem Design
o Procurement Support
o Design Progress Monitoring \& Reporting
o Budget Control
o Contractor Management
o Design Support to Construction
o SIL Safety Interlocks
o Gas Detection Systems
o ATEX/ Hazardous Areas
o Project handover
