Key Responsibilities for Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer:

• Oversee, manage and optimise VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions


• Implement, support and manage network and security technologies


• Diagnose and resolve complex network and virtualisation issues


• Interact with vendors for support escalations


• Continuously monitor network and infrastructure performance


• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all configurations and procedures

Skills and experience for Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer:

Essential:

• Proficiency in managing and optimising VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions.


• Experience with managing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.


• Extensive knowledge in configuring and managing firewalls, routers and switches.


• Advanced knowledge and understanding of networking, including TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, VLANs, dynamic routing protocols, port aggregation, load balancing, VPNs and wireless technologies.


• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architectures


• Knowledge if Cisco ACL, Firepower, ISE, Unified Computing Systems (UCS)


• Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls


• Knowledge of Veeam and Zerto data resiliency platforms


• Understanding of ITIL practices

Desirable Certifications:

• Cisco CCNA


• VMWare VCP


• Cisco Unified Computing System (DCCUCS)


• Microsoft Certifications: Azure Network Engineer Associate / Azure Administrator Associate / Security Operations Analyst Associate / Azure Security Engineer Associate
