61061Help shape COWI's strategic security direction

Do you want to play a key role in strengthening information security across an international engineering consulting company? Can you combine technical expertise, governance, and stakeholder collaboration to protect critical business systems and data? And are you motivated by helping shape secure and sustainable digital solutions for the future? Then this could be your next opportunity.

At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world. We do it by applying our knowledge, curiosity, and courage to create the solutions the world needs today to enable a better tomorrow. We are looking for a Senior Information Security Specialist to strengthen and mature COWI’s security capabilities across governance, risk, compliance, and operational security initiatives.

In this role you will become part of a small, high\-impact team and act as a trusted expert and sparrings partner to Group IT, Legal, HR, Digitalisation, and business stakeholders across the organisation. You will help ensure that security remains a natural and integrated part of our business processes, projects, and digital transformation journey. Your work location will be at COWI's headquarters in Lyngby, and you will report to the Group Chief Information Security Officer.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Developing, mature, and help implement COWI’s information security policies, standards, and processes within the ISMS.

  • Leading strategic security initiatives supporting COWI’s digital transformation, regulatory readiness, and maturity security.

  • Embedding security in COWIs project model and advising Business Lines on how to address security requirements in critical projects.

  • Providing senior‑level guidance on information security risks with impact on strategic priorities.

  • Enhancing third‑party risk management by defining governance frameworks and security requirements for suppliers — support implementation and occasionally advice, procurement and contract owners in high impact engagements.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

You are a proactive and accountable driver who identifies what needs to happen, aligns stakeholders, and delivers results—not just recommendations. Structured, pragmatic, and solution\-oriented, you thrive in fast\-paced environments, manage diverse requests effectively, and stay focused on the priorities that create the biggest impact. You build trust across teams, challenge yourself constructively, and drive decisions when security requirements must be met. At the same time, you are curious and committed to continuous learning, staying ahead of threats, standards, and best practices while turning knowledge into practical improvements.

On top of that, you will have:

  • Strong experience across multiple security disciplines, with strength in governance and risk management.

  • Solid hands‑on experience with ISO 27001, including certification, audit readiness, and implementing regulatory requirements (e.g., NIS2, CMMC, CER, CRA).

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable guidance.

  • Strong analytical skills, a structured approach, and the ability to drive multiple parallel initiatives from idea to implementation.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and create momentum without formal authority.
