As Senior Industrial Designer OFYR, you will shape the design direction of a premium outdoor cooking brand with an international presence. You will not only develop new products, but also safeguard and further develop the recognizable OFYR design DNA across the entire product portfolio.
From the very first sketch to industrialization, you translate ideas, user insights, and brand values into thoughtful, high\-quality products that are technically feasible, distinctive, and future\-proof. In this role, you work closely with Product Management, Brand, Operations, and external suppliers and manufacturers.
You combine creativity with strategic insight. You maintain oversight of the complete product portfolio, think long\-term, and actively contribute to further professionalizing design within the organization.
What will you do?
You are responsible for developing, safeguarding, and translating the OFYR design vision into concrete products and solutions. You will work project\-based with different teams and external partners.
As Senior Industrial Designer OFYR, your responsibilities will include:
- Defining, safeguarding, and further developing the OFYR Design DNA across the entire product portfolio.
- Developing and visualizing product concepts through sketches, CAD, models, and prototypes.
- Translating user needs, brand values, and product requirements into concrete design solutions in terms of form, function, materials, and user experience.
- Take products throughout the full development process: from concept phase to technical detailing and industrialization.
- Ensuring consistency, quality, and recognizability across the complete product line.
- Collaborating with Product Management, Brand, Operations, and Quality teams to align design, engineering, commercial objectives, and manufacturability.
- Communicating design intent, specifications, and expectations to suppliers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders.
- Contributing to project planning, design deliverables, and Go\-To\-Market processes.
- Identifying risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities within development projects.
- Conducting research into trends, materials, manufacturing techniques, and innovations within the market.
- Contributing to the further development of processes, standards, and ways of working within design and product development.
- Coaching and supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing, feedback, and collaboration.
What do you bring?
You are a creative and analytically strong designer with a sharp eye for brand, product, and user experience. You can easily switch between strategy and execution and feel comfortable in a dynamic environment where not everything is defined in advance.
In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:
- You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- You have at least 8 years of experience in product design and product development, preferably within durable consumer goods or premium consumer products.
- You have strong knowledge of industrial design, user\-centered design, and manufacturing processes.
- You are able to analyze complex challenges and translate them into innovative and feasible solutions.
- You have experience developing products from concept phase to production.
- You have experience with CAD software (with SolidWorks is an advantage), prototyping, and visualization techniques.
- You think in systems and product portfolios rather than isolated projects or products.
- You are strong in stakeholder management and collaborate easily with different disciplines and external partners.
- You communicate clearly and convincingly in English (an understanding of Dutch is an advantage).
- You take initiative, make decisions confidently, and feel ownership over your projects and results.
- You actively contribute to improving processes, standards, and collaboration within the organization.
- You are available for at least 36 hours per week.
