Role: Senior HR Manager – Maternity Cover (1 year)
Hours: 35 hours per week \- Hybrid (2 days office / 3 days remote)
Salary: £55,000 per annum \+ benefits
We're looking for an experienced and people\-focused Senior HR Manager to lead our HR team and help create an outstanding employee experience across the organisation. This is a 1\-year Maternity Cover role.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic people initiatives with operational excellence. You'll play a key role in workplace culture, supporting managers and employees, and ensuring our HR services are effective, compliant, and aligned with organisational goals.
What you'll be doing
As our Senior HR Manager, you'll lead the HR function and oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to development, engagement, and employee relations.
Leading, managing and developing a small HR team
Driving employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
Supporting talent management and succession planning
Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and retention activities
Managing HR operations including payroll accuracy, policies, compliance and reporting
Providing expert advice on employment law and people management practices
Leading on complex employee relations matters
Maintaining and improving HR systems and processes
Analysing HR data and providing insights to support organisational decision\-making
Ensuring GDPR and data protection requirements are met within the HR function
Supporting the delivery of learning and development programmes across the organisation
What we’re looking for
Significant experience in a senior HR generalist role
Experience managing and developing teams
Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
Experience using HR systems and cloud\-based HR platforms
Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills
A practical, solution\-focused approach to problem\-solving
Strong analytical and organisational skills / solution focussed
Confidence working with technology and data (advanced level I.T user including MS office suite)
Experience within both private and public/not\-for\-profit sectors would be an advantage but is not essential.
Qualifications
CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
Good standard of general education
