Accountabilities:

  • Own end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, role changes, and leave management within a PEO environment.

  • Maintain and continuously improve compliance processes, including state registrations, policy updates, mandatory training, and audit readiness.

  • Manage benefits administration and act as the main point of contact for brokers and external HR/PEO providers.

  • Support total rewards processes, including offer letter creation, compensation benchmarking, and collaboration with Finance and Legal.

  • Handle employee relations cases such as performance issues, accommodations, conflict resolution, and separations with discretion and sound judgment.

  • Partner with legal counsel on sensitive matters, ensuring proper documentation and risk mitigation.

  • Support performance cycles, manager coaching, and people programs such as engagement surveys and onboarding experience.

  • Own HR data accuracy, reporting, and HRIS integrity across key metrics like headcount and attrition.

Requirements


  • 5–8 years of experience in HR Generalist or HR Operations roles, ideally within fast-growing tech or startup environments.

  • Experience working within a PEO or multi-state employment structure (e.g., Justworks, Rippling, or equivalent systems).

  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance frameworks.

  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases with professionalism and emotional intelligence.

  • Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to documentation and detail.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Operations, and leadership teams.

  • High level of discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Nice to have: experience with HR automation tools (Zapier, scripting), HRIS optimization, AI tools for HR workflows, and certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP.
