About the role
Our small and agile team carries out vital planned and reactionary projects which impact daily life for communities. We have ambitious growth and expansion plans, and require an energetic, ambitious and entrepreneurial person to join our small and friendly team to help achieve our goals.
Join our Projects team as a Senior Estimator and Project manager working on public sector, education, heritage building refurbishment and maintenance projects.
Role Purpose
· To be involved with the review, preparation and submission of tenders and quotes, primarily on jobs in the £10k to £500k range.
· Preparing and submitting quotations, highlighting details of works and associated costs, together with pricing of variations.
· Liaising with Internal \& External Stakeholders and follow\-up on tenders \& quotes
- Where appropriate working closely with clients, JV partners and delivery teams to ensure a unified approach and pricing submission.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Estimator and project manager, you will have end\-to\-end accountability for your projects:
- Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and clients.
- Review tender documents, customer’s drawings, job specifications, design/value options and working scope and prepare accurate costing sheets in line with company policies.
- Produce quotes \& tenders in line with Client timescales, following them through to a successful work order.
· Liaise with members of the project team, stakeholders \& supply chain to ensure successful completion of projects.
Who we're looking for
- Strong main Contractor background with diverse experience in construction, planned and reactive building maintenance, light civil engineering and utilities projects.
· Previous experience in estimating \& managing varied multi\-faceted construction projects.
· Chartered by relevant industry recognised chartership e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB Etc (desirable).
· Proficient in the use of excel and similar software.
· Current CSCS card, SMSTS \& SSSTS (desirable).
· Working knowledge of best practice solutions and optimisation of innovative ideas and an understanding of the principles of Lean Construction and 5D cost planning (desirable).
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners and prioritise work within time constraints.
