About the team

Hertfordshire Equipment Service are expanding their clinical team and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join us

Hertfordshire Equipment Service clinical team works across the county of Hertfordshire, and with prescribers from other councils and boroughs. We work across NHS and Social care and provide specialist knowledge of equipment to prescribers, triage orders placed and complete reviews of the items available to order from Hertfordshire Equipment Service.

Hertfordshire Equipment Service work with clients of any age. This post is being developed to offer support the Adult’s team but will require the successful candidate to work across clinical team to offer resilience to the service.

What you'll do

  • Complete a wide range of triage of standard and complex items.

  • Promote a strength-based approach to your work, and in discussions with prescribers.

  • Assist the clinical team leads with development opportunities for the team and HES.

  • Will have the opportunity to undertake a specialist role of practice educator in line with registration requirements.

  • Provide clinical supervision for junior staff.

  • Provide guidance and support to prescribers in a wide range of settings.

  • Analyse and reflect on areas of training needs within the clinical team and wider with prescribers, working alongside the clinical training manager.

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of standard and complex equipment options available.

  • Discuss with the clinical team any areas identified which need development and to participate in this work as appropriate.

About you

Essential:

  • You will need to be Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist registered with a HCPC

  • Knowledge and experience of relevant legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH

  • A confident team player with good decision-making skills, also able to work independently.

  • Ability to work successfully with partners and other agencies for the benefit of citizens

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience
