What you will do:
- Collaborate with cross\-functional teams (i.e, R\&D, Product Management, Regulatory, Manufacturing, UX, branding, etc) to integrate ecodesign principles into new and existing product development (NPD and sustainment).
- Identify and implement sustainable design opportunities that reduce environmental impact while enhancing product performance and business value.
- Apply tools such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), circularity assessments, and carbon footprinting to guide design decisions.
- Support the development and deployment of ecodesign tools, metrics, and standard work across business units.
- Partner with technology leaders to explore and evaluate sustainable materials, energy\-efficient solutions, and circular economy strategies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Cytiva’s ecodesign framework and help build internal capabilities through training and coaching.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for sustainability in design, supporting internal communications and external stakeholder engagement.
- A continuous learner who is passionate about sustainability and driven to make a measurable impact.
- Experienced in product development and/or product engineering, preferably in life sciences, medical devices, or related industries.
- Knowledgeable in ecodesign principles, circular economy, and environmental regulations (e.g., EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation), including their application in a product\-development capacity.
- Skilled in tools such as LCA software, carbon accounting, and sustainable materials selection.
- A systems thinker who can connect product design with broader sustainability goals (e.g., Scope 3 emissions, end\-of\-life strategies).
- A strong communicator and collaborator, able to influence across functions and geographies. Comfortable working in a dynamic, matrixed organization with evolving priorities.
- Ideal candidate will have a BS or advanced degree in Engineering, Sustainability, or Science\-related field.
