Senior Director – Infrastructure Engineering & Transformation
Role Overview
Accenture is seeking a Senior Director – Infrastructure Engineering \& Transformation to lead large‑scale infrastructure transformations and operations for complex, highly regulated clients—primarily in banking and financial services.
This role is accountable for steering end‑to‑end infrastructure transformation on behalf of Accenture, including transition from incumbent service providers, modernization of on‑premise and cloud environments, and establishment of sustainable, regulator‑ready operating models. The successful candidate will act as a trusted executive partner to client CIOs, COOs, and Risk leaders while leading Accenture delivery, architecture, and transition teams.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Transformation Leadership
- Own and steer large‑scale infrastructure transformation programs (data center, hybrid cloud, network, workplace, service management) from strategy through execution and steady state.
- Lead incumbent provider transitions, including due diligence, transition planning, knowledge transfer, and risk mitigation.
- Drive modernization across on‑premise, private cloud, and public cloud (IaaS/PaaS) environments, ensuring technical, operational, and financial sustainability.
- Establish clear transformation roadmaps aligned with business outcomes, regulatory constraints, and contractual commitments.
- Oversee infrastructure operations at scale, including hybrid infrastructure, networks, platforms, and service management tooling.
- Ensure operational resilience, service stability, and continuous improvement across managed environments, in line with financial‑services expectations.
- Embed automation, standardization, and engineering discipline (e.g. Infrastructure‑as‑Code, SRE/DevOps patterns where applicable).
- Ensure infrastructure solutions and operating models are fit for regulated environments, including:
+ Audit, risk, and compliance reviews
+ Business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience requirements
- Act as a senior counterpart to client Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit stakeholders during transformations and steady‑state operations.
- Serve as Accenture’s executive face for infrastructure transformation programs.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with CIO, COO, CISO, and Head of Infrastructure stakeholders.
- Lead SteerCo‑level discussions on progress, risks, financials, and roadmap decisions.
- Take full accountability for delivery outcomes, including scope, cost, risk, and service levels.
- Support deal shaping, contract discussions, and transition commitments for infrastructure outsourcing and transformation engagements.
- Partner with Accenture sales and account leadership to grow and stabilize strategic client relationships.
- Lead and mentor senior infrastructure engineers, architects, transition managers, and operations leaders.
- Contribute to the evolution of Accenture’s Infrastructure Engineering practice, bringing real‑world transformation and transition experience into methods, assets, and playbooks.
Required Experience \& Profile
Professional Background
- 15\+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, operations, and/or large‑scale transformation.
- Proven leadership of complex infrastructure transformations in banking or similarly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated experience managing or transitioning from incumbent infrastructure service providers (strong advantage).
- Experience operating across hybrid landscapes: on‑premise, private cloud, and public cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of:
+ Network and workplace services
+ Service management, ITSM/SIAM operating models
- Familiarity with cloud hyperscalers and modern infrastructure engineering practices.
- Ability to translate technical complexity into executive‑level decisions.
- Executive‑level credibility with CIO/COO/Risk audiences.
- Strong program leadership, decision‑making, and crisis‑management capabilities.
- Ability to operate effectively in multi‑party environments (client, outgoing provider, regulators, internal teams).
