Senior Demand Planner (HVAC)

Help shape the future of Supply Chain at Beijer Ref UK \& Ireland

Help Build Our Future Planning Function

Beijer Ref UK \& Ireland is transforming its Supply Chain function. As we move from a traditional purchasing\-led replenishment model to a modern, data\-driven planning organisation, we are looking for a Senior Demand Planner to help establish and shape our future planning capability.

This newly created role will take responsibility for planning, forecasting, replenishment and inventory management across key HVAC product categories, with primary responsibility for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Sinclair and selected ancillary suppliers.

This is not a traditional buying role. It is an opportunity to become our first dedicated demand planner and help build a new planning function from the ground up.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

You will join ahead of the planned implementation of RELEX in Q1 2027 and play an active role in preparing the business for the new forecasting and replenishment environment.

Initially, you will develop and manage forecasts using Excel planning sheets, data gathered through Power BI and wider commercial intelligence. Following implementation, you will become a RELEX Super User, helping to improve planning parameters, automation, inventory efficiency and service performance.

You will work closely with Sales, Category Management, Branch Operations, Distribution and suppliers, giving you broad exposure and the opportunity to influence how demand and inventory decisions are made across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own end\-to\-end demand and supply planning for assigned HVAC product ranges.

  • Develop, review and validate demand forecasts using Excel, Power BI and wider business intelligence.

  • Analyse sales trends, seasonality, project demand, product changes and market activity to improve forecast accuracy.

  • Own product availability and service\-level performance across allocated categories.

  • Review replenishment proposals and planning exceptions, ensuring purchase orders are placed in line with agreed parameters.

  • Manage inventory investment, balancing product availability, working capital and stock\-turn objectives.

  • Identify demand and supply risks, including shortages, supplier allocations and constrained inventory, and develop appropriate recovery plans.

  • Work with suppliers to improve lead times, delivery accuracy and operational service.

  • Support inventory optimisation, lifecycle management and aged\-stock reduction activity.

  • Participate in RELEX preparation, implementation, adoption and continuous\-improvement activity.

  • Help develop planning processes, capability and best practice across the Supply Chain function.
What We're Looking For

You may already work in demand planning, supply planning or inventory planning. We will also consider a strongly analytical purchasing professional who is ready to move into a dedicated planning role.

  • Previous experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning or a strongly analytical purchasing role.

  • Advanced Excel capability, including the ability to build, maintain and improve planning models.

  • Confidence interpreting and analysing data using business\-intelligence tools such as Power BI.

  • Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills, with a natural curiosity about demand patterns and inventory movements.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving operational supply issues.

  • The ability to turn large datasets into clear, actionable decisions.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder\-management skills.

  • Commercial awareness and a sound understanding of inventory\-management principles.
Advantageous Experience
  • Forecasting and replenishment platforms such as RELEX, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, Slimstock or similar.

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP.

  • HVAC, refrigeration or wholesale distribution.

  • Inventory optimisation and Sales and Operations Planning processes.

  • Planning\-system implementation or wider Supply Chain transformation.
What's In It For You?
  • £40,000 salary plus benefits.

  • The opportunity to become the first dedicated planner within a growing Supply Chain function.

  • Direct involvement in the Q1 2027 RELEX implementation and the opportunity to become a Super User.

  • Ownership of strategically important HVAC product categories and suppliers.

  • Broad exposure across Sales, Category Management, Operations, Distribution and Supply Chain.

  • The chance to influence new processes, planning disciplines and ways of working.

  • Genuine development opportunities as the planning team and wider Supply Chain function grow.
What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months, you will have become a recognised demand\-planning expert for MHI, Sinclair and your assigned suppliers. You will operate confidently as a RELEX Super User, deliver measurable improvements in forecast accuracy, product availability and inventory productivity, and help establish the planning disciplines needed for our future Supply Chain operating model.
