SENIOR CREDIT RISK ANALYST

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing consumer finance business in a highly visible credit risk role. You will play a key part in shaping credit strategy for a major new lending proposition, working with large-scale datasets and helping drive commercial growth while maintaining strong risk performance.

They are a well-established consumer finance lender operating in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Combining the agility of a FinTech with the stability and resources of a larger financial services group, they continue to invest heavily in their credit analytics and decisioning capabilities.
The business is launching a significant new lending partnership, creating a unique opportunity to influence strategy from an early stage and work with a wide range of internal, external, and alternative data sources.
THE ROLE
- Develop and optimise acquisition and customer management credit strategies
- Design and implement policy rules, credit limits, pricing strategies, and affordability frameworks
- Utilise bureau, internal, and alternative data sources to drive lending decisions
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to enhance strategy effectiveness
- Present recommendations and strategy changes to senior stakeholders and governance forums
- Support onboarding strategy development for new lending propositions
- Balance commercial growth objectives with regulatory and consumer duty requirements
- Assess the impact of economic and market trends on portfolio performance
- Strong experience within consumer lending credit risk, credit strategy, or risk analytics
- Experience developing acquisition, underwriting, or customer management strategies
- Knowledge of credit policy rules, scorecards, pricing, limits, or affordability modelling
- Strong SQL, SAS, or Python skills
- Ability to work with large datasets and translate analysis into commercial recommendations
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Understanding of credit bureau data and the wider credit lifecycle
- Experience within unsecured lending, retail finance, consumer finance, loans, or cards is advantageous
- Salary up to £57,000 depending on experience
