<p>You'll be joining our Carta Law team, specifically within the Contracts - APAC function. Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our Contracts team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients – from first review through to execution. You'll be the direct day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients, working alongside fellow lawyers and paralegals. This team delivers high volumes of pre-M&A contract work at speed, supported by AI-backed tools including Carta's proprietary platform, Ava.</p>

<ul>
<li>Independently negotiate and execute high volumes of pre-M&A contracts — NDAs, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters — liaising directly with counterparties against agreed SLAs.</li>
<li>Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients, building trusted advisor relationships.</li>
<li>Maintain and evolve client-specific contract playbooks, ensuring consistency and quality across every negotiation.</li>
<li>Mentor junior lawyers and paralegals, reviewing their work and contributing to a high-performing team culture.</li>
<li>Use and continuously improve Carta's legal technology suite, identifying ways to innovate using AI-backed tools</li>
<li>Manage the full contract lifecycle for each matter, from first review through execution and system logging.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Law Degree and licensed to practice.</strong> You're licensed to practise law in any APAC jurisdictions, the UK, US, or Canada, with 5+ PQE </li>
<li><strong>Track record.</strong> You've independently negotiated pre-M&A contracts like NDAs, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters in a financial services legal environment.</li>
<li><strong>Trusted advisor. </strong>You build lasting relationships with sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients and communicate legal advice crisply.</li>
<li><strong>Commercially minded.</strong> You balance legal risk against business objectives and flag issues before they escalate.</li>
<li><strong>Collaborative leader. </strong>You mentor junior lawyers and paralegals and take ownership of your work in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li><strong>Tech-forward highly preferred. </strong>You're proficient with AI-backed contract review tools and look for ways to improve them.</li>
<li><strong>Language capability highly preferred.</strong> Able to review and negotiate in Japanese, Korean or Mandarin</li>
