Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. This vital role involves providing high\-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a key part in creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the emotional, social, and developmental needs of the children. Experience working with children and a strong understanding of care plans are essential for this position.
Duties
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans to support the emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people.
- Foster positive relationships by offering guidance, encouragement, and support to promote independence and confidence.
- Assist with daily routines including meal preparation, personal hygiene, educational activities, and recreational outings.
- Drive children safely to appointments, school, or leisure activities as required, ensuring adherence to road safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, behaviour management strategies utilised, and any incidents in line with organisational policies.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, social workers, families, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Contribute to the development and review of individualised care plans to meet the changing needs of children in your care.
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Proven experience working with children or young people within a residential or childcare setting.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive safely and responsibly.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience implementing care plans effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Competent in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Compassionate approach combined with patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable children.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or social care are desirable but not essential; however, ongoing professional development is encouraged.
