Senior Care Assistant – ARBD \& Complex Care

Location: Ardencraig Care Home, 15 Ardencraig Place, Glasgow, G45 9US
Rate of Pay: £14\.50 per hour
Contract: Full\-time
Work Location: In person

About Ardencraig Care Home
Ardencraig Care Home is located in the heart of Castlemilk, on Glasgow's south side. We provide compassionate and professional care for older adults and younger individuals with complex physical and mental health needs.Our purpose\-built home consists of four dedicated care units — Willow, Maple, Cedar and Oak — each designed to meet the individual needs of the people we support.We provide specialist care for individuals living with:

  • Alcohol\-Related Brain Damage (ARBD)

  • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)

  • Neurological conditions

  • Complex physical health needs

  • Complex mental health needs

We encourage the people we support to participate in meaningful activities and social opportunities that enhance their quality of life, while our experienced team provides compassionate, safe and respectful care.About the RoleWe are currently looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Ardencraig Care Home, supporting individuals with ARBD, acquired brain injury and other complex needs.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with senior care experience who is passionate about recovery\-focused, person\-centred support and helping the people we support maximise their independence.You will work closely with the Home Manager, Operations Team and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure support is tailored to each individual's needs, goals and recovery journey.Key Responsibilities
  • Support individuals with ARBD to maximise independence and promote recovery.

  • Lead and support person\-centred planning, ensuring individual goals and outcomes remain at the centre of care.

  • Develop and support recovery\-focused care plans.

  • Support with medication management in line with relevant policies and procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including health professionals and social workers.

  • Mentor and support colleagues in applying recovery\-focused approaches.

  • Monitor individuals' progress and identify when support or interventions may need to be reviewed.

  • Promote independence, daily living skills and community reintegration.

  • Encourage structured routines and positive opportunities for development.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Support effective risk management and ensure care is delivered in line with relevant standards and company policies.
Recovery\-Focused SupportAs part of the role, you will support individuals through approaches that may include:
  • Structured routines

  • Cognitive support strategies

  • Harm reduction and abstinence support, where appropriate

  • Gradual development of independent living skills

  • Long\-term rehabilitation and recovery\-focused support
About YouWe are looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable and committed to supporting people to achieve greater independence.You will ideally have:
  • SVQ Level 3

  • Experience supporting individuals with ARBD, acquired brain injury or other complex needs

  • A good understanding of recovery and rehabilitation approaches

  • Previous experience in a Senior Care Assistant or senior care role

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good documentation and record\-keeping skills

  • An understanding of risk management and person\-centred support

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
