About the Role

Forbes George Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team in Cheltenham.

We are an established electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and renewables contractor working across domestic, commercial and high\-end projects throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.

Our air conditioning division is continuing to grow, and we are looking for an experienced engineer who can take responsibility for installations from start to finish, work alongside our existing engineers and improvers, and help us develop the AC side of the business.

Importantly, this role offers a genuine opportunity to progress into a management position as the department grows.

The quality of our work is extremely important to us.

We do not rush installations simply to get onto the next job. Our engineers are given the time, tools and equipment needed to complete installations properly.

In return, we expect a very high standard of workmanship, excellent attention to detail and genuine pride in the finished installation.

If you're the sort of engineer who notices when trunking isn't level, pipework could have been routed better or an installation simply doesn't look right, you'll fit in well with us.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installation of split, multi\-split and commercial air conditioning systems


• Service, maintenance and fault finding


• Pressure testing, evacuation and commissioning


• Refrigeration and electrical fault diagnosis


• Leading installations and taking responsibility for jobs from start to completion


• Working alongside and supporting engineers and improvers


• Dealing professionally with customers on site


• Completing commissioning and job documentation


• Helping maintain high installation standards across the department


• Supporting the continued growth and development of our air conditioning division

What We're Looking For

You should have:

• Significant experience as an Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Engineer


• F\-Gas Category 1 – essential


• City \& Guilds 6127 Refrigeration \& Air Conditioning (or equivalent) – preferred


• Strong installation experience


• Good service and fault\-finding ability


• Experience with split and multi\-split systems


• VRF/VRV experience would be advantageous


• Good understanding of refrigeration and electrical fault diagnosis


• Excellent attention to detail


• Pride in producing high\-quality installations


• Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs


• Good communication and customer service skills


• Full UK driving licence

We're particularly interested in someone who wants to develop beyond being purely a site engineer and would like the opportunity to move into AC management and leadership as the department grows.
