  • Senior Actuarial Analyst – Advanced Analytics & Insights

A leading life insurer is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their Advanced Analytics & Insights team. This is an intellectually stimulating role where you will work on cutting-edge analytical projects using large, unique datasets unavailable to competitors. You will collaborate with highly skilled colleagues on challenging, thought-provoking problems that influence real business decisions and push conventional thinking. You’ll apply advanced actuarial and data techniques to provide strategic insight across Protection and Longevity, contributing to projects that are unusual, high-impact, and visible across the business. If you thrive on intellectual challenge and innovative work, this role is designed for you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct analytics projects leveraging proprietary datasets to generate actionable insights for underwriting, pricing, and risk management.

  • Develop, validate, and refine predictive models, turning complex results into clear recommendations for stakeholders.

  • Investigate new data sources and analytical methods to enhance decision-making across Protection and Longevity.

  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to apply analytical outputs effectively in business processes.

  • Use Python, R, SQL, or similar tools to perform rigorous, reproducible analysis and maintain high-quality data standards.
Your Experience & Skills
  • Part-qualified actuarial student, progressing toward FIA or equivalent.

  • 2–5 years’ experience in actuarial, analytics, or related roles, ideally in pricing, underwriting, or research-focused environments.

  • Proficient in statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and data science tools; familiarity with insurance risk frameworks is advantageous.

  • Strong communicator, able to explain complex analytical ideas to non-technical audiences.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable as a specialist contributor in a collaborative team environment.
