SEND Tutor (SEMH) – 1:1 Tuition – Hull – QTS Required
Join Study Mind – Make a Difference Through 1:1 SEND Tuition
Who We Are
At Study Mind, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to access education in a way that works for them. We specialise in providing high\-quality, personalised tuition for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them build confidence, develop skills, and progress towards positive educational outcomes.
Who We Need
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Qualified Teacher (QTS) to support a Year 11 learner in Hull through a highly personalised 1:1 alternative provision package.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to work with a young person who has a complex SEND profile, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), ADHD, and additional medical needs.
The student has experienced a significant decline in engagement with education and requires a calm, relationship\-led approach that prioritises trust, regulation, communication, and emotional safety before academic demand.
Despite the challenges he faces, he has many strengths and interests. He enjoys drumming, music, imaginative role play, and responds well to familiar routines and trusted adults. He thrives when learning is embedded within meaningful activities and relationships.

- Build a trusting and consistent relationship through patient, low\-demand engagement

- Use Total Communication approaches, including visuals, symbols, and simple language

- Work collaboratively with residential care staff, social care professionals, and education teams
- Monitor progress and contribute to transition planning for future educational provision
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice
