Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Complex SEND & Challenging Behaviour Location: Central Stockport
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school based in central Stockport. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting a child on a 1:1 basis who has complex SEND requirements and challenging behaviour.

The successful candidate will be confident, patient and resilient, with a strong understanding of how to support children with additional needs and challenging behaviour in a primary school setting.

The Role: • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex SEND and challenging behaviour.

• Supporting the child with their learning, emotional regulation and engagement throughout the school day.


• Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to implement appropriate strategies and support.


• Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate: • Previous experience working with children in a 1:1 capacity.

• Experience supporting children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.


• Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour management.


• Confident working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.


• Team Teach qualification is highly desirable, although not essential.


• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or school-based experience would be advantageous.
