We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Slough seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning and reach their full potential. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support to children with a range of additional needs, both within the classroom and through targeted interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups


• Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes


• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning


• Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development


• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals


• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have experience working with children, ideally within an educational or SEND setting


• Possess a patient, caring, and adaptable approach


• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Are passionate about supporting children with additional needs


• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff


• Are reliable, proactive, and committed to making a difference

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Youth Worker, Nursery Practitioner, or similar role


• Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or complex learning needs


• Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or SEND
