Job Title: Teaching Assistant OR Learning Advocate (dependent on qualifications)

Salary: FTE \- £27,656\.83 \- £29,442\.09

TAKE HOME: £23,656\.00 \- £25,183\.00 (DOE)

Place of Work: Silver Birch School, Briercliffe

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8\.15 \- 4\.15 TERM TIME ONLY

We’re looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and help our pupils thrive.

About the Role
You’ll work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and behaviour—helping every child access the curriculum and reach their potential.

What You’ll Do

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups

  • Build confidence, independence and emotional regulation

  • Assist with EHCPs and personalised learning

  • Use a trauma\-informed approach to support behaviour

  • Help deliver engaging lessons and prepare resources

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback

  • Create a calm, structured and positive learning environment

  • Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience with SEND and/or SEMH pupils

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Calm, flexible and positive approach

  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Desirable:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Experience in a specialist setting

  • Knowledge of Autism, ADHD and trauma\-informed practice
