Teaching Personnel is recruiting a passionate and dedicated SEND Primary Teacher to join a specialist residential education setting in the Barnstaple area from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and making a positive impact on their educational journey. The setting provides a therapeutic and nurturing environment for pupils with a range of complex learning, communication, and social-emotional needs.
The Role You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils within a small class setting. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help create a supportive learning environment that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential.
About the Setting The specialist residential provision supports primary-aged pupils with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Communication and interaction difficulties
- Moderate learning difficulties
Key Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to individual learning needs.
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- Experience working with SEND pupils in either mainstream or specialist settings.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- A patient, resilient, and child-centred approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
