We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic, highly motivated and capable SEND support assistant to join our dedicated team in supporting children with complex needs (with EHC Plans). The successful applicant will be required to support the class teacher in the development and implementation of various strategies to facilitate learning and manage behaviour in line with the pupils' needs and abilities. While the main focus of the role will be supporting children in EYFS in the first instance, there may be occasions where the successful candidate is required to support other pupils with EHC Plans across school. This position is subject to the pupils remaining in school and the continuation of the EHC Plans.
You will have:
- Experience of working with children with SEND needs
- The ability to support and lead learning
- Patience and the ability to relate well to children
- A good sense of humour
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to show initiative, work independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to work with outside agencies
- Skills in behaviour management of children
- A willingness to undertake any appropriate training
- A caring and positive working atmosphere
- A staff culture where everyone is encouraged to succeed and develop
- Appreciative pupils and supportive Governors, parents and community
