SEN Learning Support Assistant – Long-Term Opportunity – Southampton Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join one of our specialist partner schools in Southampton on a long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people, with the potential for a permanent role within the school.
The specialist setting caters for pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, complex learning needs and medical needs. The school prides itself on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting pupils both academically and emotionally throughout the school day
- Helping students regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
- Working closely with teaching staff and external professionals
- Promoting a safe, structured and nurturing environment
- Experience within SEN, education, care or support work desirable
- Positive, patient and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
£14.25 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
