SEN TEACHING ASSISTANTS - BOURNEMOUTH

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of SEN schools and Alternative Provisions across Bournemouth and the surrounding areas from September 2026.

These settings offer a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs, behavioural challenges, or barriers to learning. Many schools are offering temp-to-perm pathways for candidates who show commitment, consistency, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing personalised SEN support to children with a range of needs

  • Assisting with creative, therapeutic and inclusive activities

  • Promoting safety, emotional well-being and positive engagement

  • Supporting daily routines, emotional regulation and independence

  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families

CONTRACT DETAILS
  • Location: Bournemouth and surrounding areas

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Start Date: September 2026

  • Contract Type: Full-time, temp-to-perm opportunities available

  • Pay Rate: From £14.25 per hour

  • Working Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm (may vary by school)

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered, you must:

  • Have the Right to Work in the UK

  • Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)

  • Provide references covering the last 24 months, ideally involving children or vulnerable individuals

  • Hold a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education or a related field, or have relevant experience
