The Supply Register is working in partnership with Prospere Trust to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join the team at Pioneer House SEN School in Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity for caring, committed and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with additional needs.

The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to engage with learning, develop their independence and achieve their individual goals.

You will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide tailored support in the classroom and across the school day. Every pupil is unique, and you will help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities • Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs.

  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

  • Helping pupils develop their confidence, communication, social skills and independence.

  • Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to develop appropriate strategies for managing emotions and challenges.

  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities, preparation and learning resources.

  • Providing support during lessons, break times, lunchtimes and other activities throughout the school day.

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Following individual education, care and behaviour plans as appropriate.

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, families and other professionals.

  • Maintaining a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
