SEN Teaching Assistant (Epilepsy Experienced)
- Location: Bromley-by-Bow, Tower Hamlets
- Job Type: Long Term, 4 days a week.
- Start Date: Immediate
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 8 student with epilepsy, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.
- Proactively manage and anticipate potential episodes or behavioural challenges, including the student's tendency to undress.
- Implement behavioural strategies and support plans developed in collaboration with SENCO and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a calm, secure, and supportive learning environment for the student.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and medical professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the student’s education and health.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance understanding of epilepsy and related behavioural management.
- Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, specifically with students who have epilepsy.
- Strong understanding of epilepsy management and behavioural intervention strategies.
- Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to the personal and educational development of students with special educational needs.
- Preference for a male candidate or a strong female candidate, as specified by the school’s requirements.
