Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-established SEN Hub in Wolverhampton that is looking to recruit dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of complex learning needs and challenging behaviour. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and positively impact the lives of children who require additional support to flourish both academically and personally.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with complex special educational needs.

  • Support children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional learning needs.

  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.

  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual support plans.

  • Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or Support Worker.

  • Experience supporting children with complex needs and behavioural difficulties.

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.

  • Strong behaviour management skills.

  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
