We are looking for a caring, resilient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school supporting pupils with complex needs. This is a full-time temp-to-perm role with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
About the Role You will work within a complex needs class, supporting pupils with a range of physical, learning and communication needs. This role is hands-on and will include personal care as part of daily routines.
Suitable Backgrounds This role is ideal for candidates with experience in:
- Support Work
- Healthcare Assistant (HCA) roles
- SEN support or care settings
- Residential childcare or adult support services
- SEN TA
Key Responsibilities • Supporting students with complex physical, sensory and learning needs
- Providing personal care (toileting, feeding, hygiene support)
- Assisting the class teacher with daily routines and learning activities
- Using communication tools and sensory equipment
- Creating a safe, engaging and nurturing classroom environment
- Working closely with teaching staff, therapists and support teams
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility and willingness to meet pupils’ individual needs
- Passion for supporting vulnerable children to reach their potential
