Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a reputable school based in Tring. As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional needs, ensuring their educational journey is both enjoyable and rewarding.
Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tring, Hertfordshire
Salary: £95 to £105 per day, depending on experience
Contract Type: Contract, term-time only

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant at this Primary School you will;
- Provide 1:1 SEN support to students with specific learning difficulties, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.
- Adapt teaching materials and strategies to suit the individual needs and learning styles of the student, utilising a range of engaging and creative techniques.
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and liaise with the Class Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to monitor progress.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to contribute to the planning and delivery of effective lessons, ensuring that additional needs are catered for.
- Observe and record the progress and behaviour of the student, reporting any concerns or notable developments to the appropriate staff members.
- Support the student during lunch and break times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Previous experience working in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous, although not essential.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, and provide them with confidence and reassurance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively relay information to colleagues and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to think on your feet and problem-solve.
