SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Bath (BA2)

Contract: Full-Time (Term-Time)

We are seeking a resilient and dedicated SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant to work closely with students in a school setting in Bath (BA2). This role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them succeed both academically and socially.

This is a highly rewarding position, ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are confident managing challenging behaviour while building positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

• Support students’ academic progress and emotional development


• Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours


• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils


• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons


• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals


• Encourage social skills, confidence, and independence

Ideal Candidate We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, particularly those with experience in:

• Youth work / youth justice


• Security or military services


• Behaviour support or mentoring roles

You will also:

• Have experience working with challenging behaviour


• Be calm, patient, and resilient under pressure


• Be passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives


• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Be adaptable and proactive in your approach

Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply
