We are seeking a resilient and dedicated SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant to work closely with students in a school setting in Bath (BA2). This role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them succeed both academically and socially.
This is a highly rewarding position, ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are confident managing challenging behaviour while building positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Support students’ academic progress and emotional development
- Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Encourage social skills, confidence, and independence
- Youth work / youth justice
- Security or military services
- Behaviour support or mentoring roles
- Have experience working with challenging behaviour
- Be calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
- Be passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be adaptable and proactive in your approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
