Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist outreach team supporting children and young people who are not currently accessing mainstream education.
This is a highly rewarding role working 1:1 and in small groups, supporting learners in their homes, community settings, and alternative provisions to help them re-engage with education and build confidence.
The Role: • Full-time, long-term opportunity
- Outreach-based SEN support (not classroom based)
- Working with children with SEMH, ASD, and complex needs
- Delivering tailored learning and intervention sessions
- Supporting engagement, emotional regulation, and routine building
- 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Term time only
- Must be willing to travel across Plymouth and surrounding areas
- Ability to obtain business insurance for travel with learners
- Confident working independently in community and home-based settings
- Can build strong, trusting relationships quickly
- Is calm, resilient, and adaptable in challenging situations
- Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
- Can work flexibly and independently
- Delivering structured outreach sessions in varied environments
- Helping reduce barriers to learning and attendance
- Working closely with families, schools, and support services
- Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
