Aspira Education are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Behaviour Support Assistant to support a Reception\-aged child on a long\-term basis within a primary school in Gainsborough.

This role involves supporting a young child who is currently experiencing significant emotional and behavioural challenges following a highly dysregulated early background. The child is a looked after child and requires consistent, nurturing support from an adult who can remain calm, caring and professional during difficult moments.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in a child's life and educational journey.

Hours

Monday \- Friday \| 9:00am \- 1:30pm

About the Role

As an SEN Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support a Reception\-aged child within a specialist Learning Support Hub.

  • Help the child engage positively in learning and daily school activities.

  • Provide consistent emotional support and reassurance throughout the school day.

  • Support the child during periods of dysregulation and heightened anxiety.

  • Use positive behaviour strategies to promote safety and engagement.

  • Work alongside an experienced teacher and two other SEN Behaviour Support Assistants.

  • Build a trusting and secure relationship with the child over time.

  • Promote emotional regulation, communication and social development.

  • Contribute towards creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment.
No two days will be the same, so resilience, patience and flexibility are essential.

This role is based within a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gainsborough that is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs through early intervention, nurture\-based approaches and personalised support.

You don't need formal teaching qualifications, but you must:

✔ Have experience supporting children with challenging behaviour

✔ Be calm and confident under pressure

✔ Be resilient and emotionally mature

✔ Be nurturing and compassionate

✔ Be able to maintain clear and consistent boundaries

✔ Be patient and understanding

✔ Be able to build positive relationships with vulnerable children

This role would not suit someone who is easily phased by challenging behaviour.

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Two recent references

  • Willingness to complete safeguarding training with Aspira Education

  • Ability to start ASAP
