Job Purpose
The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of security officers to ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of a large corporate office environment. The role requires a calm, approachable, and professional leader who can communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and building management teams. The postholder will lead by example, support junior staff, and maintain high standards of conduct, welfare, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Supervise daily security/reception operations within the corporate office building
- Oversee access control systems (passes, visitor management, turnstiles)
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and building security systems
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the premises
- Ensure front\-of\-house security presence is professional at all times
- Support facilities with contractors and occasionally contracts
- Manage, schedule, and supervise a team of reception security staff, including nights.
- Conduct daily briefings and shift handovers
- Train staff on corporate procedures, customer service, and emergency response
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, and appearance standards
- Handle disciplinary issues in line with company policies
- Ensure a welcoming and professional experience for employees and visitors
- Reception/concierge functions
- Managing deliveries and internal post
- Sending out Domestic and International post
- Liaising with staff to schedule bike couriers
- Manage high\-profile visitors and VIP arrivals
- Resolve queries, complaints, or incidents with professionalism
- Maintain a strong visible presence in lobby and key areas
- Support Facilities with day to day if required
- Act as the primary on\-site contact for some building management and security.
- Attend client meetings and provide updates on security/reception/events.
- Build strong working relationships with facilities teams, IT, and HR
- Coordinate with emergency services when required
- Maintain accurate daily occurrence logs and incident reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies, corporate standards, and legal requirements
- Carry out risk assessments and contribute to site security plans
- Support audits and inspections (internal and external)
- Help in Emergency procedures (fire evacuations, lockdowns, medical incidents)
- Act as Fire Marshal and First Aider
- Ensure compliance with site health \& safety policies
- Conduct drills and ensure staff readiness alongside facilities
A professional and dependable Security Supervisor with over three years of leadership experience in a large corporate office environment. Recognised for maintaining a calm, approachable, and authoritative presence, even in high‑pressure or confrontational situations. Leads by example, setting high standards of conduct, professionalism, and customer service for the wider team.
The candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients, building management, and facilities teams. They are committed to supporting junior officers through performance guidance, conduct management, welfare support, and compassionate leadership, ensuring a positive and cohesive team culture.
With proven experience managing teams of six or more officers, they bring sound judgement, operational awareness, and a proactive approach to incident management and workplace safety. Fully licensed under SIA regulations, they uphold the highest standards of integrity and service delivery.
Criteria Details
- Supervisory Experience \-Essential \-Minimum 3\+ years in a Security Supervisor or Team Leader role.
- Corporate security officer experience \- Desirable \- Minimum previous 2 \+ years of corporate security officer role
- Team Leadership \- Essential \- Proven ability to lead 6\+ officers, setting standards and leading by example.
- Calm \& Approachable Demeanour \- Essential \- Must remain calm under pressure, approachable to staff and clients, and able to de‑escalate situations professionally.
- Client Communication \- Essential \- Confident communicator with the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Support for Junior Staff \- Essential \- Demonstrated commitment to supporting junior officers through performance management, conduct issues, welfare concerns, and compassionate situations.
- Corporate Security Experience \- Essential \- Experience in large corporate office buildings with complex operational needs.
- Facilities Liaison \- Essential \- Strong collaboration with building management and facilities teams.
- Incident Management \- Essential \- Skilled in responding to, escalating, and documenting incidents.
- SIA Licensing \- Essential \- Valid SIA licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor).
- Conflict Management \- Essential \- Ability to manage confrontation with professionalism and composure.
- IT \& Systems Knowledge \- Desirable \- Familiarity with access control, CCTV, and digital reporting systems.
- Training \& Development \- Desirable \- Experience coaching or mentoring team members.
- Commuting distance \& travel \- Essential \- Must be within 30\-minute commutable distance and either have own transport or direct public transport route.
