The Department of Neuroradiology at the University Hospital Heidelberg has an experienced team of specialists who perform diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system including the brain, the spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. Our research focusses on acute ischemic stroke, neurovascular disease, neuroncologic imaging, novel imaging techniques and automated multimodal image analysis as well as the conduct of randomized clinical trials and observational cohort studies. We are a dynamic and interdisciplinary team of young scientists and doctors with a passion for innovation and technology. Your work will focus on the conduct of design and conduct of statistical analyses of randomized or observational clinical data for the treatment of neurovascular diseases. Furthermore, you will use causal and other advanced machine learning methods as well as clinical and imaging data to improve individualized decision making and prognostic modelling for patients with neurovascular diseases.

- Design of observational and interventional clinical studies
- Conduct of advanced statistical and machine learning analyses (target trial emulation, causal machine learning, causal inference, prediction modelling)
- Conduct of methodological studies in the field of medical statistics, clinical epidemiology and causal inference
- Development and application of complex algorithms for the precise and automated quantitative and qualitative analysis of various CNS pathologies, including strokes, tumors and multiple sclerosis.
- Engaging with project collaborators, stakeholders and funding organizations within projects as well as organizational and administrative support for projects

- A completed university degree, preferably in the fields of epidemiology, statistics, mathematics, data science, (bio)informatics, computer science or a natural science with a statistical\-mathematical focus
- Experience in working with tabular and imaging data
- Programming skills in R, Python, or another statistical software package; ability to provide
- custom\-designed reports and presentations of data
- Excellent command of German and English language
- Independent working style characterized by initiative, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of precision
- Willingness to expand knowledge base and take on new topics. Effective communication
