Science Teacher – Secondary School (Bexley)

Location: Bexley, South East London
Contract: Long-Term Supply or Permanent
Start Date: ASAP / September 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

The Opportunity

A well-established secondary school in Bexley is looking to appoint a dynamic and committed Science Teacher to join their thriving Science department. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring curiosity and encouraging a love of learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

The position is available on a long-term supply or permanent basis, making it suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable, depending on specialism)

  • Teach across at least two disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

  • Plan engaging lessons that promote curiosity and independent thinking

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted support

  • Contribute to departmental planning and practical learning activities

  • Support the wider school through enrichment activities and events

Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school (including ECT placements)

  • Strong subject knowledge in at least one Science specialism

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
